Paciphacops campbelli Oklahoma Trilobite

Paciphacops campbelli

Trilobites, Trilobite Order Phacopida, Suborder Phacopina, Superfamily Phacopoidea Family Phacopidae

Geologic Time: Lower Devonian

Size: 27 mm

Fossil Site: Haragan Formation, Coal County, Oklahoma

The well preserved trilobite is a member of the Order Phacopida, Family Phacopidae. This trilobite was prepared by Bob Carroll, a world-reknowed preparator of Oklahoma Devonian trilobites. Others may use less care, resulting in a less desirable specimen. Many trilobites from the region were once called Paciphacops, but this one is differentiated from the genus Kainops by the smaller number of schizochroal eye facets, the unique attribute of Phacopid Suborder Phacopina.
