kotlukovi represents an evolutionary branch beginning and ending
in the Middle Ordovician. It begins a morphological sequence of
increasing eye-stalk size, and was progenitor of Asaphus punctatus,
and later Asaphus intermedius that had increasingly higher eye stalks.
